INAUGURATION OF ONAMFAIR - 06-09-08
“ONAM CHANDHA”, the Onam Fair has been inaugurated at Madras Kerala Samaj by Sri.Princeson Jose,
The fair’s first sale was commenced officially by Sri.Gokulam Gopalan and received by Sri.K.V.Mohandas.
With regard to the inauguration, Kerala Vidyalayam students performed traditional art forms like Margam Kali, Oppana, Kaikottikali .
Wayanaadan Nendran (banana), banana chips, pickles, Handloom kasavu sarees, Palada, etc. The fair arranged the sales at cost prize by Samaj as part of its social services.
Onachanda convenor Mr.MKA Azeez welcomed the gathering. Chairman Dr.T.M.R.Panicker, Sri.K.V.Nair, Sri.K.V.Mohandas, Sri.Ambika Balan Sri.K.V.V.Mohanan, Sri.K.P.K.Sankaran Nambiar, Sri.Guruvayoorappan Balan, Ln.K.S.Gopalan, Sri.N.Sreedharan were felicitated the function. Vote of thanks by Sri.P.K.Balakrishnan, Jt.Secretary of the Samaj.
Really it was a colorful start by Keralaites to welcome Onam. Onamfair will be available till 11th September ; 8p.m. Onam celebrations will be on 12th at 4.30 pm. Sri.Suresh Krishna Malayalam film star will be the Chief Guest.
