BUNDOLA - A BLEEDING MEMORY FROM II WORLD WAR

The Art Section of Madras Kerala Samaj, staged a malayalam Drama, plucked from the bleeding memory of II world war.   Drama written by Sri.RUBESH RAVI and directed by Sri. RAJIV JAYAN . The Play about an episode from the era of World War II when elephants and mahouts were deployed by the British to build roads in the forests of Burma.

Blending fact and fiction  the play explored the bond between man and animal against a historical backdrop.  The play is titled “BUNDOLA”  after the name of an elephant, an animal famed for its strength and grace with ring marks in its tusks.  The tusker never makes an appearance  in the play but his presence is felt throughout, the HINDU says. Bundola, described as an untold story  of Bombay Burma Elephant Regements  of the British Indian Army.  The audience enjoyed the narrative sequence that brought out the traits of each of the characters in the play.    The music of the drama was excellent and its credits goes to Sri.GURUVAYOOR PRAKASHAN  and CHANDRADS.

SUDHEER , KRISHNAPRIYA,  SHIJU, GIRISH KARAMEL, PRAVEEN KUNNAMKULAM,  SUBASH BABU,  ROWL  SATHYAPALAN, VIJAY, SATHISH, SANAL, UDAYAKUMAR KULAKUNNATH,  SAJITH KRISHNAN,  were acted very well the roll entrusted with them.  VENU KOTTARATHIL given the lighting effect which was one another poetic colour of this drama. Make-up by Sri.Appoliyan.   Sri.Ajith was the Asst.Director.

The Drama got well appreciations from the audience and medias for ;that the author , Director  others participated in this play can proud.

    About this drama….. there are no words to say how good it was.I would really appreciate the people behind the scene who put their real efforts in delivering such a historic play on the stage.
