Madras Kerala samaj  Nandambakkam branch celebrated onam on 19th September 2009 with various cultrural programmes and Mr.M.P.Purushothaman, President of FAIMA was the Chief Guest.  Mr.Arumugam,IPS,  was the guest of honour.   Mr.M.SivadasanPillai presided over the function.  Cultural programmes started with the violin kacheri by the world famous violin prodigy, Indian President’s award winner, Aspire award winner, Ms.Aathira Krishna.   Following the dance programmes  by the artists trained by ;Santhoshmaster.     In the cultural meeting, Mr.K.R.Rajagopal,  welcomed  the gathering, and President of MKS Dr.TMR Panicker, Gen.Secy. Kumblegad Unnikrishnan, Jose Kadavan, K.V.V.Mohanan, K.V.Nair,  V.Parameswaran Nair were gave their Onam greetings.    Onakkodi ( Onamgift) presented to the tamil sisters/mothers as a goodwill  relationship between tamil-malayalam peoples.    ;Ms.Aathira Krishna felicitated by the chief guest Mr.M.P.Purushothaman.   Photos will be posted later.       -Madraskeralasamaj News.

 Madras Kerala Samaj, Perambur branch celebrated Onam by serving onamfeast to more than 2000 inmates of Mental Health Institure, Kilpauk, Chennai on 13.9.2009.  The feast served first by Mr.V.S.Babu, MLA of Purasawalkam, of Tamilnadu assembly constituency, India.   Payasam, Pazham, chips, sambar sadam, thairsadham, pickle, paruppu etc.  a rare food tasted the patients and they also celebrated onam, whom have no flowers in their mind, but the face reflected the onappookal.   The members of malayali activists of perambur satisfied by seeing the happiness of the mental hospital patients.  Chennai Corporation councilor Mr.Dorairaj, Samaj president Dr.TMR Panicker, M/s.V.Sivasankaran, P.Parameswaran,Chairman P.P.Sudhakaran,  Prof.Shanthi Nambi, Dr.Chitra,  K.V.
