In the gracious presence of the Secretary of Kerala Sahithya Acadamy, Mr.Purushan Kadalundi and other eminent personalities, Dr.C.G.Rajendrababu, Head of Malayalam dept.of Madras University, and Dr.G.Prabha, Prof.of Loyola College, Chennai, the prestigeous award for Poem for Non-Resident Malayalies, presented to the Bangalore based Marunaadan Malayali Mr.Vimish Maniyoor, who belongs to Vadakara, Kannur.

Mr.Purushan Kadalundi congratulated Mr.Vimish Maniyoor, for his vision and experience in the life which reflected in the award winning Poem‘ration card’.   He also praised the Madras Kerala Samaj for its works for the last 70 years in the socio/education field and for the efforts to spread Malayalam    language-culture . For this, government of Kerala normally giving one lakh rupees every year but this year it has reduced to 50000 which will pay with arrears during the next year for that he promised that he will discuss with the honourable minister for culture and education.    Mr.Vimeesh Maniyoor expressed his thanks for the award and hospitality at Chennai. Dr.C.G.Rajendrababu, Dr,G.Prabha, Dr.TMR Panicker, Mr.M.Sivadasan Pillai, Dr.K.J. Ajayakumar, were also felicitated the function. General Secretary of the Samaj, Mr.Kumblengad Unnikrishnan, presented welcome address and vote of thanks by Mr.P.k.Balakrishnan.
