MADRAS KERALA SAMAJ (REGD.)

Madras Kerala Samaj, Chennai.84, Tamilnadu, India, called for poems in Malayalam from only the Malayalis residing outside Kerala for the Madras Kerala Samaj Kavitha Award 2008, and from the different parts of the world, we have received 34 poems. The poems received from Kerala has not taken for consider the award.

For the last 10 years, Kerala Samaj giving this award. This year Mr.Shyam Sudhakar won for this award. His URAVA (SPRING) selected by the Judges, they are Prof.Mohan Kumar and Mr.Nishanth, among the poems received for considering the award.

The award function will be organised at Dr.C.R.Krishnapilla Hall of Madras Keralasamaj at Chennai in June 2008.

Madras Kerala Samaj (Regd.under Societies Act of Tamilnadu, India) in association with ABAN FOUNDATION, Chennai, conducting Community Marriage on June 12th, the Death Anniversary day of Mr.M.A.Abraham, the founder of ABAN GROUP OF COMPANIES. This year Samaj arranged the 4th M.A. Abraham Memorial community marriage on 12.6.2008. So far 14 couples, they are belongs to economically poor section of the society in Chennai. Mr.Reji Abraham S/o Sri.M.A. Abraham, and present MD of ABAN GROUP OF COMPANIES, Mrs.SALI ABRAHAM w/o.M.A. Abraham will inaugurate the function. Noted social activists and Malayali leaders Messrs.M.P.PURUSHOTHAMAN, GOKULAM GOPALAN, DR.T.M.R. PANICKER, K.V.NAIR, M.SIVADASAN PILLAI, K.V.V. MOHAN, AMBIKA BALAN, T.K. ABDUL NAZAR, V.RAVUNNI MENON, S.S.NARAYANAN and other prominent personalities will attend the function. Samaj with the help of ABAN, will give mangalya suthra (thali), two gold rings, wedding sari, bridegroom dresses, vessals and a grand wedding feast at Dr.Krishnapilla Hall on 12th June 2008 at 10.30 am onwards. It is our proud to lead such a true social service in the name of our former President. Mr.M.A. ABRAHAM always a good friend of poor peoples and he helped so many peoples during his life time. His son, Sri.Reji Abraham also follows the footsteps of his father. Madras Kerala Samaj plans to construct a fully equiped hall in the Samaj premises in memory of Mr.M.A.Abraham.

Chennai Kavi Sangamam (Malayalam poets Assn., Chennai) inaugurated at Dr.C.R.Krishnapilla Hall, Madras Kerala Samaj, by Prof. S. Joseph, famous malayalam poet. Noted poets from Kerala, Engadiyoor Chandrasekharan and Veerankutty were also attended the function. Kavi Sangamam programmes started with poems written by Mr.Joseph George. President Sri.K.T.Krishnawarrier presided the function. Secretary Sri.Jose Kadavan welcomed the gatherings. Sri.Ambika Balan, Sri.V.Parameswaran Nair, Confederation of Tamil Nadu Malayali Assn Gen.Secretary, Dr.K.Ravindra raja, Mr.S.S. Pillai, Dr.G.Prabha, Mr.K.J. Ajayakumar were felicitated the function. From 2pm onwards, the poets meet begun. Poets from Kerala S.Joseph, Veerankutty, Engandiyoor Chandrasekharan, K.T.Krishna Warrier, Joseph George Vattakunnel, K.K.Ramakrishna Warrier, P. Sudhakaran, Sheela Saliyappan, Mrs.Grace Nelson, Ms.Bindu Venugopal, Bhasi K.Punlur, Dr.Ravindra Raja, Balakrishnan Anakkara, Janardhanan Kelath, Suresh Pudukulangara, M.T.Baby, Kumblegad Unnikrishnan, Sreekumar were presented their poems.
