K.K.VARMA - FELICITATED ON HIS 80th BIRTHDAY

Chairman of the Madras Kerala Samaj BUILDING TRUST Sri.K.K.Varma felicitated on his SATHABHISHEGAM (80TH birthday) on 23.3.2008 at Dr.Krishnapilla Hall at 10 am in a function organised by the Samaj. President of the Samaj Dr.T.M.R.Panicker presided over the function. Sri.A.Krishnankutty Nair, former LAW SECRETARY of Tamilnadu State, participated as Chief Guest. Kerala Vidyalayam Students performed cultural programmes initially which was attracted the gathering. In the felicitation function the chief guest presented the momento to Sri.K.K.Varma. In addition to the samaj, other branches of Samaj, namely NANDAMBAKKAM KERALA SAMAJAM, VYASARPADI KERALA SAMAJAM, PERAMBUR KERALASAMAJAM, garlended Sri.K.K.Varma with ponnadai. In addition to this, KERALA VIDYALAYAM ALUMINI ASSN., EZHUTHASSAN WELFARE ASSN., SRI.P.K.CHANDRAN MD of ARUL APPALAM, SRI.M.A.BHARATHAN MD of BINDU APPALAM DEPOT., Smt.SHIVAKAMI VELLINGIRI writer, ADAMBAKKAM MALAYALI WELFARE ASSN., INDIAN MAGIC ACADAMI DIRECTOR SHRI.SHORNUR RAVI also presented ponnadai to Sri.Varma.

Malayala Bhasha Padana Kendram convenor Sri.Parameswaran Nair also garlended him with a shawl.

Samaj Chairman Sri.M. Shivadasan Pilla , Sri.K.V. Nair Vice President of CTMA, School correspondent Sri.P.K.N.Panicker, Vice President Sri.T.K.Abdul Nazar, PTA President Sri.M.K.Govindan, KVHSS Headmaster Sri.M.Satish, Alumni Assn.President Mr.KPA Lathief, Artist K.Gopalakrishnan were addressed in the function. Hon.ble UNION MINISTER FOR DEFENCE, SHRI.A.K.ANTONY’S GREETINGS read in the function and handed over the same to Shri.Varma by Sri.P.K. BALAKRISHNAN.

Mangalapathram presented by Sri.N.Sreedharan on behalf the Samaj. Samaj General Secy. Sri.Kumblangad Unnikrishnan welcomed the guests and Sri.MKA Azees proposed vote of thanks.

CELEBRATES ‘SATHABHISHEKAM’

Madras Kerala Samaj celebrates 80th birthday of SRI. K.K.VARMA Chairman of the Building Trust of the Samaj, who is belongs to Kilimanoor Palace of Travancore Kingdom. Mr.K.K. Varma, longtime President of Madras Kerala Samaj, Supreme Court Advocate, Industrialist ( CMD of famous INDIA METERS) is completing 80th year of Purposeful life. He is still active and is in the leadership of this Association as Chairman of Madras Kerala Samaj Bldg.Trust. The Samaj is celebrating this occassion in a fitting manner. The former Law Secretary of Tamil Nadu, Sri.A.Krishnankutty Nair will be the Chief Guest.

Dr.TMR Panicker will preside over the function.

BUNDOLA - A BLEEDING MEMORY FROM II WORLD WAR

The Art Section of Madras Kerala Samaj, staged a malayalam Drama, plucked from the bleeding memory of II world war.   Drama written by Sri.RUBESH RAVI and directed by Sri. RAJIV JAYAN . The Play about an episode from the era of World War II when elephants and mahouts were deployed by the British to build roads in the forests of Burma.

Blending fact and fiction  the play explored the bond between man and animal against a historical backdrop.  The play is titled “BUNDOLA”  after the name of an elephant, an animal famed for its strength and grace with ring marks in its tusks.  The tusker never makes an appearance  in the play but his presence is felt throughout, the HINDU says. Bundola, described as an untold story  of Bombay Burma Elephant Regements  of the British Indian Army.  The audience enjoyed the narrative sequence that brought out the traits of each of the characters in the play.    The music of the drama was excellent and its credits goes to Sri.GURUVAYOOR PRAKASHAN  and CHANDRADS.

SUDHEER , KRISHNAPRIYA,  SHIJU, GIRISH KARAMEL, PRAVEEN KUNNAMKULAM,  SUBASH BABU,  ROWL  SATHYAPALAN, VIJAY, SATHISH, SANAL, UDAYAKUMAR KULAKUNNATH,  SAJITH KRISHNAN,  were acted very well the roll entrusted with them.  VENU KOTTARATHIL given the lighting effect which was one another poetic colour of this drama. Make-up by Sri.Appoliyan.   Sri.Ajith was the Asst.Director.

The Drama got well appreciations from the audience and medias for ;that the author , Director  others participated in this play can proud.
